The Mental Edge: Sports Psychology & the Modern Athlete

In athletic performance and competition, emphasis often is placed on training and preparing the athlete’s body. But what about the brain?

Join us for “The Mental Edge: Sports Psychology & The Modern Athlete” on Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 6:45-8 p.m. at Training HAUS. Sport Psychologist Alexandra Wagener, PhD, LP, will cover topics from mental training to enhance peak performance to tips for preventing athlete burnout and explore helpful advice for athletes, parents and coaches.

The presentation will include:

  • How to use mental training to increase enjoyment and consistency in play
  • Ways to motivate your athlete on and off the field/court
  • Warning signs and prevention tips for burnout
  • Tips for encouraging and supporting athletes
