Building Healthy Habits for the Competitive Youth Athlete - Training HAUS

Building Healthy Habits for the Competitive Youth Athlete

As a youth athlete, the most important “wins” have nothing to do with the final. Success for competitive athletes ages 9 to 14, should be measured by learning the fundamentals and forming good habits. That’s why we at Training HAUS, powered by TCO, created the Healthy Habits for Youth Athletes series.  In total, three unique events will be offered, each giving your athlete the chance to work with expert coaches, improve their skills and have a blast doing it. Your athlete has the opportunity to attend one, two or all three of the events.

Monday, January 20 (MLK Day)
Session 1: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM – FULL
Session 2: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Athletes Aged 11 – 14
Cost: $35 per Athlete

Athletes will begin the session by learning how to properly warm-up and get ready for competition. Then, athletes will take part in a pair of 45-minute workouts. The first workout will be movement-based with an emphasis on speed and agility. The second workout will focus on developing on-court basketball skills and the proper fundamentals. The session will close with a nutrition presentation where athletes will learn the proper way to fuel for competition, while also receiving a smoothie.

Saturday, February 15 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Athletes Aged 9 – 14 + Parents
Cost: $35 per Family (includes 1 parent and 1 athletes)

The session will begin with a presentation of information for parents, coaches and athletes about safely managing athlete workloads, building healthy routines, selecting and performing exercises correctly, and utilizing specific strategies for skill development. The second-hour of the session will feature a workout and demonstration of aspects discussed in the first portion. Athletes will be guided through a warm-up, exercise routine, fundamental movements, and throwing exercises. This will provide the athletes a chance to learn the movements; and provide parents/coaches a chance to see things taught, while asking questions along the way.
